Style Guides

Building a style guide will get everyone on the same page when it comes to segmenting contacts within the CRM.

Simplicity Ops Summary: For a CRM database to be organized, reportable, and for ease of use for the team, there needs to be a consistent naming convention for the contacts in the system.

Example: Your CSA enters a prospect into Redtail, and under status there are three different options that could all apply - Prospect, Active Prospect, Current Prospect. Some prospects are labeled “Active” and others are labeled “Current.” This lack of consistency causes issues when running reports, setting up email campaigns, and knowing which stage of the sales pipeline a prospect may be in. A standard naming convention solves this problem and documenting it in a Style Guide provides a resource for the database users
